How to find the program using a file?

You cannot remove a file if it is locked by some programs.
If you want to manipulate the file, you should find out what the program is.
$ fuser filename
In Unix environment, fuser command returns the PID of the program which is using the file whose name is filename.
After find the PID, kill that program.
$ kill PID
